Biography
Having spent 15 years performing communications work in healthcare advocacy, family law, and academia, Joey joined PNNL in June 2022 with the mandate to create both an institution-wide strategy for employer brand messaging and to produce/procure more human-centered storytelling for all external-facing digital channels, including direct email campaigns, career platforms, paid media for conferences/events and career listings, college and university outreach, PNNL websites, and social media. He operates within the Institutional Communications team, is a member of the Comms Accessibility Workgroup, and serves on the Lab's crisis communications team.
Joey is passionate about helping others obtain internships, postdocs, and full-time jobs, particularly those new to such career pathways and/or from underrepresented and marginalized communities.
Research Interest
Joey's research has focused on social media, recruitment and career development, technology, media law, DEI efforts, accessibility, and crisis/risk communications.
