Biography

 

Jessica Skidmore is the Group Leader of the Advanced Solutions and Integration (ASI) Group within the National Security Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). In this capacity, she oversees a team of approximately 65 expert staff who excel in delivering advanced project management support for nuclear security and homeland security initiatives on a global scale. These initiatives strategically deploy cutting-edge technologies to end users and directly contribute to critical missions such as border security and nuclear material safeguarding.

Since joining PNNL in 2009, Jessica has leveraged her extensive project management expertise to lead several large-scale technology deployment programs with lasting global impact. Her notable contributions include leadership roles in landmark programs such as the Radiation Portal Monitor Project (RPMP) and the Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence (NSDD) Program, both of which work to strengthen international capacities to detect, disrupt, and investigate illicit trafficking of special nuclear and radiological materials.

Jessica’s portfolio extends beyond nuclear security to include managing communications and IT modernization efforts, such as cloud migration projects, and driving innovative solutions in artificial intelligence and machine learning. She currently balances her leadership responsibilities with her ongoing role as Sustainability Manager for the NSDD Program, where she collaborates closely with partners in Djibouti and Oman to ensure the long-term sustainability of critical security measures.

Jessica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from George Fox University and a Graduate Certificate in Security and Resilience Studies from Northeastern University. She is also certified as a U.S. Department of Energy Basic Instructor Trainer and an Agile Scrum Master. Known for her unwavering commitment to excellence, Jessica fosters a culture of continuous evolution and growth within her team, inspiring them to achieve their professional potential and make meaningful contributions to global security.
