Ian Cameron
Biography
Ian Cameron is an advisor in the National Security Directorate and the subsector manager for Counter-WMD and Special Operations within the Defense and State sector at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). In 2024, he was named group leader for the Mission Alignment group within the Emergency Threats and Technologies Division.
Mr. Cameron has nearly 20 years' experience applying research and development to critical national security challenges. Since 2008, he has served as a member of the U.S. delegation to the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, where he has provided expert advice to the U.S. government on the development of the Treaty verification regime. At PNNL, he has managed over $100M of technical research and development efforts supporting the U.S. Departments of Defense and State and the National Nuclear Security Administration. A lawyer by training, Mr. Cameron is also experienced in engaging foreign partners to support compliance with nuclear arms control and nonproliferation agreements.
Prior to joining PNNL, Mr. Cameron supported the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the National Academy of Sciences. He has a BA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
