Ian Cameron
Biography
Ian Cameron serves as the interim director of the Departments of War and State Sector at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL).
He previously served as subsector manager for special operations within the Department of Defense and Department of State Sector and as group leader for mission alignment within the Emerging Threats and Technologies Division.
Mr. Cameron has over 20 years of experience applying science and technology against critical national security challenges. At PNNL, he has managed over $100M worth of research and development efforts supporting the Department of Defense, Department of State, and the National Nuclear Security Administration. He has represented the United States as part of the delegation to the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, providing expert advice on the development of the technical verification regime. A lawyer by training, Mr. Cameron is also experienced in engaging foreign allies and partners to strengthen U.S. security cooperation.
Before joining PNNL, Mr. Cameron supported the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the National Academy of Sciences. He has a BA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
