Biography

Emily Campbell joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as a staff member shortly after graduation from Washington State University and has supported projects in nuclear energy, environmental management, and national security. While at Washington State University, her researched focused on understanding the role of the diglycolamide, N,N,N′,N′-tetra(2-ethylhexyl)diglycolamide (T2EHDGA), in the separation of lanthanides from minor actinides in the actinide lanthanide separation process. Campbell is the task lead for post-irradiation examination for the Tritium Technology Program, where she leads a team to evaluate tritium production and behavior in various components of irradiated tritium-producing burnable absorber rods through quantification and characterization methods. She is the Actinide Chemistry group team leader and has applied her separations experience to support the radioactive waste test platform for cesium removal from Hanford tank waste supernate. She enjoys mentoring junior scientists and engaging with project staff. Outside of work, she enjoys country life, raising her daughters, and riding horses.
