Edward Louie
Edward Louie
Biography
Edward Louie joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in 2020. He has experience assessing, verifying, and quantifying the energy performance of over 600 new homes seeking above-code energy efficiency certifications in the greater Portland and Southwest Washington area and has installed numerous heat pumps and heat pump water heaters.
Louie has spent years quantitatively and qualitatively examining how energy-efficient products and technologies perform in real-world conditions and documenting new issues that arise from the new technology. He also has a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 608 universal refrigerant certification and training certifications in heat pump products from multiple manufacturers.
Outside of work, you will find him doing energy efficiency and building science experiments using his own home and those of his friends and family. He makes frequent posts on LinkedIn about his projects.
