Biography
David Florey is a software engineer and leader of the Operational Readiness and Enablement group in the National Security Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory where he leads a multidisciplinary team of engineers focused on streamlining the operations of data and AI systems and solutions critical to national security.
Florey has over 25 years of experience delivering software systems and solutions for a variety of technologies such as cloud, embedded, large data systems, machine learning, and AI. He most enjoys exploring new technologies and techniques and leading teams to find the synergies that enable well-crafted, high quality, secure solutions that exceed customer expectations.
With knowledge in commercial software development, pure research, education, and business incubators, Florey draws from a broad portfolio of experience, including development, security and operations, machine learning operations, algorithm development, the development of application programming interfaces and software development kits, open-source community engagement and growth, decision modeling, and more. Florey approaches all engineering endeavors with a growth mindset, establishing a collaborative and supportive work environment to bring out the best in himself and his team.
