PNNL

 Chris Patrick is the Collateral Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) with a strong background in cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance. In this role, Chris is responsible for overseeing the security posture of classified information systems, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and implementing robust security controls to protect critical assets. 

Chris collaborates with stakeholders to develop and enforce security policies, conduct risk assessments, and lead incident response efforts. Using a proactive approach to cybersecurity, Chris works  to mitigate threats, enforce security best practices, and maintain system accreditation in accordance with federal standards. 

 Prior to joining PNNL, Chris worked in executive security for Amazon, specializing in Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), where he was responsible for detecting and mitigating electronic surveillance threats to protect corporate executives, facilities, and sensitive information. His expertise in counter-surveillance and security operations provided him with valuable insights into advanced threat detection and risk mitigation strategies. Chris also worked in law enforcement as a Corrections Officer for the Washington State Department of Corrections, where he developed strong skills in security, crisis management, and operational risk assessment—experience that translates  into his cybersecurity work.

Chris is committed to fostering a security-conscious culture and ensuring operational resilience in an evolving cyber threat landscape. 

When not sitting behind a computer, Chris operates a 10 acre hobby farm that includes, alpacas, pigs, chickens, horses, goats, turkeys, and the occasional coyote.
