Biography

Carolyn Cramer has over eight years’ experience working in the development and characterization of solid oxide fuel cell materials. Ten years ago, she transitioned from the engineering field to information sciences, where she assists research scientists with their information needs and delivers relevant scientific and technical information in support of research projects. She worked in the S&T Publishing Division to understand the publishing lifecycle at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and helped lead the strategy behind the labwide Hub/About Me profile system and Publishing Summit goals. She now divides her time on sponsor-related projects where she is interested in the analysis of data through the use of visual analytic tools to discover relationships and emerging trends, and co-leads the StoryLab initiative to help researchers tell their stories in compelling ways in the Physical and Computational Sciences Directorate. She received her degrees at the University of Washington (BS ceramic engineering, MS materials science and engineering, MS library and information sciences).
