Equity Portfolio Day

Equity Portfolio Day highlights two key equity and environmental justice executive orders - Executive Order 13985 and Executive Order 14091 executed by the Biden-Harris Administration.  

This day focuses on the advancements made by DOE in relation to equity and justice. Justice40 Day

Justice40 Day takes a closer look at the Justice40 Initiative and highlights the milestones achieved thus far. DOE will also talk about the benefits of data analysis to address equity challenges and share information about the intergovernmental efforts around Justice40 implementation.

Justice40 Day focuses on understanding Justice40 Initiative metrics and accountability measures. Environmental justice experts will share best practices for Justice40 Initiative implementation and address the significance of data transparency in energy justice accountability. Energy Justice Day

Energy Justice Day focuses on DOE’s energy justice initiatives and better understanding the challenges and barriers that energy justice stakeholders face. 

Energy Justice Day focuses on showcasing DOE’s community engagement efforts. Highlights to include an interagency panel on 48e and an introduction of the Affordable Clean Homes Shot discussing many of the issues people face from energy burden to energy insecurity and power outages. MSI and MBE Day

MSI and MBE Day offers an opportunity to learn how Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) fully participate in DOE programs. 

MSI and MBE Day focuses on ways to engage the next generation of MSI Science, Engineering, Technology and Math (STEM) students and to highlight available DOE funding opportunities for MBEs. The new energy transition requires a highly skilled and diverse workforce to meet the Biden-Harris Administration’s equity goals. 

Programming includes current opportunities for MBEs, a workforce panel featuring minority business owners and small breakouts sessions with representatives from DOE's Small Business Administration, Minority Business Development Agency, and Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization. DEIA Day

DOE's DEIA Day event is closed to the public to enable focus on DOE employees only. Yet, the day still offers an opportunity for agencies to consider their own Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility efforts and opportunities for improvement.
