Abstract
Conversion of syngas to EtOH has never been demonstrated commercially. The challenge is to gain high selectivity to ethanol while still maintain high single pass conversion. This invention is related to selective ethanol production using microchannel reactor. Several process concepts, microchannel reactor configurations and catalyst formulations are described. It is expected that high CO conversion and selectivity to EtOH can be achieved by using catalytic microchannel reactor
