Biography
Zac Palmer is a Washington, D.C.-based senior technical advisor in the Mission Alignment group within the Emerging Threats and Technologies Division. He previously served as the team lead in the Cyber Analytics and Analysis group.
Since November 2016, Palmer has served as an embedded senior advisor to the Assistant Deputy Administrator and Associate Assistant Deputy Administrator in the Office of Global Material Security at the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. In this role, Palmer provides subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on threats and risks associated with nuclear and radiological security, emerging technologies, and strategic planning.
Before joining Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Palmer served at GuidePoint Security advising U.S. federal departments and agencies on innovative information security solutions for combatting cyber and insider threats. Palmer also served at the Department of Homeland Security’s Domestic Nuclear Detection Office and the National Counterterrorism Center’s Office of Weapons of Mass Destruction Counterterrorism.
