Biography
Weili Xu is a senior building research engineer in the Building Simulation & Design Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. In this role, he manages and oversees the development and maintenance of several mission-critical applications, including COMcheck, REScheck, OpenStudio Standards, and ruleset checking tools.
Since joining Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in 2021, Xu has focused on research and development in the areas of building simulation and advanced tools management. His work emphasizes workflow automation, full-stack web application development, and data analysis and visualization to enhance decision-making processes in building design and construction.
Xu’s expertise encompasses building information modeling, building energy modeling, and building life cycle cost analysis. His contributions aim to improve design accuracy, optimize energy performance, and support the long-term sustainability of buildings through data-driven approaches and innovative solutions.
