The Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO) will hold the Hydropower Research and Development (R&D) Summit Talks across three virtual events in April, May, and June 2024. The summit will bring together representatives from both environmental and industry hydropower groups to share insights on the technological and scientific needs for sustainable hydropower in the United States. This year, attendees will explore three topics of interest from the 2023 Summit.

• Environmental flows and sediment management – ­June 2024, date and time TBD
• Restoration of connectivity – July 2024, date and time TBD
