Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) invites you to attend the virtual groundbreaking ceremony for the Department of Energy (DOE) Grid Storage Launchpad (GSL). The GSL is a state-of-the-art facility, located at PNNL, that will support the Energy Storage Grand Challenge and the Long Duration Storage Shot.

The ceremony will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022, starting at 1:00 p.m. PDT. Please register to attend via Zoom.

The groundbreaking celebrates the combined commitment of the federal government, the State of Washington, and Battelle to build an advanced research facility that will provide systematic and independent validation of new grid storage technologies, from basic materials and components to prototypes, to accelerate the development and deployment of long-duration, low-cost grid energy storage.
