Mark your calendars for April 28 to 30 as the Cybersecurity for Energy Resilience Summit (CyFERS) returns for its second year!
CyFERS brings together state and territory officials for three days of interactive and engaging cybersecurity training. As cybersecurity threats increase, so does the role of the states to work with industry to secure the nation’s energy infrastructure. CyFERS will advance state/territory knowledge of cyber threats, risk assessments, and cyber incident preparedness. CyFERS is hosted by the Department of Energy’s Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response in collaboration with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, the National Association of State Energy Officials, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, the National Governor’s Association, and the National Conference of State Legislators.

Our meeting will take place at the Hilton Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the Empire Room located on the 5th floor of the hotel. To support convenient lodging, we have secured government per diem guest rooms at the Hilton’s sister property, The Marc, which is connected to the meeting space via an indoor walkway. The meeting rooms can be reached either via the elevators at The Marc or or via thee elevators in the main lobby of the Hilton.
Hosted by Idaho National Laboratory, this immersive escape room experience places participants in a simulated cyberattack on the electric grid. Teams must work together to hunt down cyber threats, regain control of compromised industrial control systems, and restore power before time runs out. The activity blends hands-on cybersecurity challenges with classic escape-room puzzles to highlight real-world critical infrastructure defense. Participation is optional and requires separate registration from CyFERS. The exercise will be offered in four sessions (maximum 15 participants per session):
