VSP Software for Collaborative Sampling and Decision Making

Abstract

The purpose of Visual Sample Plan (VSP) is to provide simple, graphical and map-based tools for defining an optimal, technically defensible sampling scheme for site characterization and ultimately decision making. VSP is applicable for any two-dimensional sampling problems including surface soils, building surfaces, water bodies, or other similar applications. VSP provides a platform for accomplishing cost effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy in developing and communicating technically defensible sampling plans and decisions. The latest version of VSP software (3.0), and full documentation including a User’s Manual may be downloaded free of charge from http://dqo.pnl.gov/vsp
