Biography
Zachary Palmer is a Washington, DC-based staff member whose principal role is to engage government partners, industry, and academia to deliver multi-disciplinary research, development, and operations capabilities to address critical missions and technical challenges. In addition, Mr. Palmer serves as the Washington, DC, Strategic Development lead, focused on building a community among DC-area staff and providing insights to leadership on key sponsor initiatives.
Mr. Palmer previously served as a group leader for the Emerging Threats and Technologies Division’s Mission Alignment group, as well as a team leader in Cyber Analysis and Analytics. Before these roles, Mr. Palmer served as an embedded senior advisor to the Assistant Deputy Administrator and Associate Assistant Deputy Administrator in the Office of Global Material Security at the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. There, he provided subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on threats and risks associated with nuclear and radiological security and emerging technologies. He also served as a senior advisor at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Before joining Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Mr. Palmer served at GuidePoint Security advising U.S. federal departments and agencies on innovative information security solutions for combatting cyber and insider threats. Mr. Palmer also served in federal roles at the Department of Homeland Security and other Intelligence Community organizations.
