Biography
Luke Durell is an interdisciplinary data scientist in the Math and Statistics of Data Science group within the Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics Division and National Security Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
Durell supports a variety of projects involving nuclear radiation detection, environmental and biological science, and metabolomics. His work involves functional data analysis, design of experiments, complex data visualization, Shiny app development, machine learning, traditional statistical modeling, validation/verification of data and experiments, and data science education and mentoring. He works with complicated, rich datasets from radiation portal monitors, mass spectrometry instruments, resistance spot welding, and installation energy/water resilience measures.
