Biography

Arun Sathanur is the PI of “Artificial Intelligence Solutions to Boost Operational Efficiency in Networked Infrastructure Systems” project, part of the Mathematics for Artificial Reasoning in Science initiative. Arun joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in 2015 and is a senior scientist in the Data Sciences and Machine Intelligence group. His research interests are in network science, graph analytics, optimization, and machine learning. His projects cover a wide a range of domains and have been supported through funding from multiple agencies such as DOE Advanced Scientific Computing Research, DOE Vehicle Technologies Office, DOE Fossil Energy, the National Institutes of Health, and DARPA.

Arun’s graduate work is in circuit and interconnect optimization, and he worked at Intel and a circuit simulation start-up (merged with Siemens) in the areas of design optimization and statistical analysis. He then switched his research areas to data and graph analytics and worked as a research associate and an instructor at the University of Washington where he developed approaches to social influence rooted in physics-based methods.
