Biography

Dr. Amzi Jeffs joined PNNL in 2025 as a postdoctoral research associate and was promoted in 2026 to data scientist. His work in computational geophysics includes applying artificial intelligence/machine learning and scientific computing workflows to geophysical inversion and anomaly detection, in support of energy infrastructure undergrounding and other subsurface initiatives. 

Prior to PNNL, Dr. Jeffs was a National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, authoring papers in discrete geometry and combinatorics.
