Earth scientist Bin Zhao was appointed as an associate editor to Geophysical Research Letters and Frontiers in Environmental Science.

Geophysical Research Letters, published by the American Geophysical Union, features high-impact communications-length original research articles that encompass all disciplines in the geosciences field. Frontiers in Environmental Science publishes research that aims to advance scientific knowledge of the natural world and how it intersects with society.

“I’m honored to work as an associate editor for these two journals. This gives me the opportunity to serve the scientific community and will allow me to better keep up with the latest advancements in my field.” said Zhao.

Zhao’s research centers on the chemical processes controlling aerosol pollution and strategies for its control, as well as the interactions between aerosols, clouds, and climate. His work developing and applying chemical transport models to new organic particle formation was recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. Zhao received his PhD in environmental science and engineering from Tsinghua University and joined PNNL in April of 2019.
