Vince Gerbasi, a microbiologist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) with experience in molecular biology, proteomics, immunology, and infectious disease, has joined the editorial board of the peer-reviewed journal Proteomics. The journal publishes topics related to proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, and systems biology approaches. Its readership includes biochemists, clinical chemists, immunologists, geneticists, microbiologists, molecular biologists, toxicologists, food scientists, and cell biologists, among others.

At PNNL, Gerbasi uses mass spectrometry to study proteins from infectious diseases and immune processes.

“Reviewing for the journal will allow me to see some of newest techniques in the field applied to important biological problems,” he said. “I believe reviewers for Proteomics perform the critical role of resolving discrepancies and working with authors to draw novel and sound conclusions from their work.
