Aurora Clark Featured in Latest Issue of Frontiers in Energy Research
Congratulations to Dr. Aurora Clark on being profiled in the latest issue of Frontiers in Energy Research. Clark is the IDREAM Energy Frontier Research Center (EFRC) Deputy Director and Washington State University professor. The article, titled "Art, Science and an Off-the-Grid Childhood," was written by IDREAM member Daniel Pope.
In the article, Clark discusses the need for scientists to have a sense of curiosity and a fighting spirt that's able to overcome hardship and rejection. She also discusses her decision to move from studying veterinary science to theoretical chemistry. Further, she shares insights about her career and the challenges that IDREAM is tackling.
Frontiers in Energy Research disseminates the work being done at the EFRCs. The EFRCs, funded by the Office of Basic Energy Sciences at the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science, bring together creative, multidisciplinary scientific teams to perform energy-relevant basic research with a complexity beyond the scope of a single investigator. An editorial board of early career scientists leads the newsletter. Pope, along with the other board members, selected the topics, wrote the articles, and reviewed the issue.
