Overview

The Cyber Security For Energy Resilience Summit (CyFERS) is being held from May 20-22, 2025 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Salt Lake City Airport.

CyFERS is designed to provide cybersecurity training to state and territory officials to help protect energy infrastructure. As cybersecurity threats increase, so does the role of the states to work with industry to secure the nation’s energy infrastructure. CyFERS will advance state/territory knowledge of cyber threats, risk assessments, and cyber incident preparedness. The Department of Energy’s Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response is collaborating with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory with support from the National Association of State Energy Officials, the National Governors Association, and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, and input from the National Emergency Managers Association and the National Conference of State Legislators to advance national security via engagement with state officials.

 Summit Goals:

  • Equip state officials with cybersecurity knowledge and resources to advance energy security planning, cyber risk assessment, and protections against malicious attacks targeting critical energy infrastructure.
  • Foster collaboration for meaningful interaction among attendees to build partnerships across various sectors involved in energy cybersecurity.
  • Bolster the role state officials play in securing the reliable flow of energy in their states and regions against cyberattacks.
