A frequency modulated radio frequency (RF) voltage will be utilized for the confinement and separation of ions according to their mobility. Herein, we propose a new ion mobility device which work only on RF and the ions move forward due to the pseudopotential. Unlike other RF confinement devices, the pseudopotential experienced by the ions is not a trapping potential, hence it drive the ions forward.
