Homeownership, an indicator of financial security, is impacted by discrimination towards minor- ity populations. Factors that contribute to unequal homeownership between white and minority population have not been fully characterized since unequal homeownership persists. In order to alleviate the issue, policymakers need a better understanding of how risk factors affect homeown- ership on a per race level. Here, we utilized several publicly available surveys, such as the Ameri- can Community Survey and United States Census, and statistical learning models to investigate potential factors related to homeownership in White, Black, Hispanic, and Asian populations, with a focus on how risk factors vary per race. We incorporated both known risk factors and potential factors like job availability per job class and commute times to work.
