This book is comprised of seven chapters. Chapter 1 broadly addresses regulatory challenges and the types of genomic data/tools (Technical Background, 2.0) currently available to scientists/risk assessors. Herein we also describe the basic approach used for structuring the Pellston workshop (Workshop Overview, 3.0), which featured an assessment of the potential utility of toxicogenomics in ecotoxicology relative to five different regulatory needs. Detailed discussions, conclusions, and recommendations from these five perspectives are captured in Chapters 2–6. Chapter 7 provides a synthesis and summary of major points from the workshop.
