Designing a Transactive Electric Vehicle Agent with Customer's Participation Preference
Abstract
Transactive electric vehicle (TEV) agents enable the utilization of EVs' flexible resources for the benefits of both utility and customers by active market participation. In this work, we propose a TEV agent optimization with a novel slider feature that models an individual customer's willingness to participate in the transactive market. We characterize the customer amenity in the context of EV using a slider scale that provides flexibility to the customer to trade-off between comfort and savings. The impact of slider selection is analyzed on a diverse EV population. Finally, using the proposed optimization framework, we investigate the comparative benefits of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology compared to unidirectional smart charging (V1G).Published: May 11, 2023
