Tim’s experience spans from broadcast news to organizational and marketing communications. Early in his career he worked as a reporter and news director at KTVM-TV in Butte, MT, a city that was experiencing severe economic decline. In addition to gaining workplace skills in Butte that have served as a strong foundation for later efforts, Tim observed community resiliency and leadership characteristics that continue to shape his approach to life. At PNNL he has contributed his abilities to disciplines including staff communications, media relations, executive communications, and marketing communications. He maintains an affinity for news and feature writing, and most of his subject matter today focuses on advanced building controls and building-grid integration, with an occasional nuclear science topic. One of his proudest accomplishments is a Pacific Northwest Smart Grid Demonstration Project report that required distilling an 800-page technical document into 32 pages, under a tight deadline.
