Biography

Dr. Lambeets is a Pauling Fellow working with the Molecular Bioimaging and Cellular Dynamics team in PNNL’s Environmental Molecular Sciences Division and the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL) user program. Lambeets has a strong background in heterogeneous catalysis, atom probe microscopy (APM) techniques and CO2 valorization. His expertise includes the fabrication of catalytically active model nanoparticles and the CO2 hydrogenation on their surface at the molecular scale using field ion microscopy, field emission microscopy, and in situ atom probe tomography. This approach aims to understand the synergistic influences existing between CO2 hydrogenation and its catalyst’s surface structure.

Dr. Lambeets is also pushing the limits of APM to study surface phenomena in the presence of a very high electric field and the development of the in operando APM dedicated to mapping surface reactions in real-time at the molecular scale.
