Biography

Rebecka Bence Iveson is a hydrogeologist in the Risk and Environmental Assessment group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). She supports a variety of projects, including technical analyses on groundwater impacts to support licensing of new nuclear power plants, Department of Defense installation energy and environment resilience, environmental data indexing, and innovative, field-based characterization and monitoring methods to quantify contaminant distribution and remedy performance in the subsurface. She has regulatory experience with the National Environmental Policy Act and provides technical support to the Water Assessment, Development, and Execution team at PNNL.

Prior to joining PNNL in 2023, Bence worked as a consultant the contaminated land sector, conducting field studies and groundwater risk assessments. Her field experience includes the design and execution of ground investigations and sampling plans (soil, groundwater, gas, and vapor), supervision of borehole drilling and installation, hydraulic testing, and remediation monitoring.
