Maddison Heine
Biography
Maddison Heine is a nuclear engineer in the Radiological Exposures and Metrology Laboratory—also called the 318 Building—where work is conducted in health physics, radiation dosimetry, irradiation research design, Monte Carlo modeling, radiation biology, engineering, and radiography.
Heine also supports research that assesses long-term disposal of nuclear waste with the sibling pins project. She is conducting research to support the comparison of as-received fuel cladding and samples that undergo radial hydride treatment to determine if annealing of radiation damage occurs during dry storage.
Before joining Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in 2022, she was a research operation engineer at Washington State University, a research coordinator at the University of Washington, and a chemical engineering intern at Washington River Protection Solutions. Heine earned her BS in materials science and engineering at Washington State University and is beginning her PhD in materials science and engineering at Washington State University in August 2023.
