Renaud provides expert guidance to sponsors, including the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, helping them navigate complex regulatory landscapes. She specializes in evaluating sites for the National Register of Historic Places, developing agreement documents and fostering meaningful consultation and engagement with tribal governments. Her work ensures that significant historical and cultural resources are identified, preserved, and protected for future generations. Renaud’s expertise spans prehistoric and historic archaeology, human and faunal remains analysis, site recordation and interpretation, historic research, GIS-based mapping, and comprehensive documentation of archaeological fieldwork.

Before joining REA, she managed the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s cultural resources program, where she oversaw the protection of cultural resources for the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest Site Office. Her efforts safeguarded cultural resources across the Richland and Sequim campuses, as well as offsite projects, ensuring alignment with NHPA and NEPA standards.

Earlier in her career, Renaud worked extensively in cultural resource management across the Midwest and Southeast. She also served as a Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act coordinator for a museum, facilitating the return of culturally significant items to tribal nations.

By meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Archaeology, Renaud demonstrates her unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of NHPA and NEPA, emphasizing the critical role these laws play in preserving our nation’s shared history.
