Biography

Dr. Glaesemann is a PhD physical chemist specializing in scientific software engineering.

In his current role at PNNL, he specializes in HPC system administration, high-performance computing, parallel processing, and code optimization (power grid, water, chemistry, etc.) across diverse computing architectures.

His chemistry research expertise encompasses explosives, burning metals, thermodynamics, and optical modeling, with findings published in prestigious journals including Nature Physics. At Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, he contributed to the DOE Stockpile Stewardship Program, and served as Principal Investigator for the Cheetah code. He has also worked at the DOE's Ames Laboratory and a private-sector soil and water analytical laboratory.

His professional career is complemented by a graduate certificate from Air University's Squadron Officer School and extensive emergency management training, including ICS-400 certification and completion of the Coast Guard's Inland Search and Rescue Planning Course. As a Lieutenant Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol he serves as: Planning Section Chief, Wing Director of Education & Training, lead instructor for a mission-base school at Fort Leonard Wood, and former Squadron Commander. Also within Toastmasters, he is a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), former Club President, and former Area Governor.
