Jordan F. Corbey
Jordan F. Corbey
Biography
Dr. Jordan F. Corbey is a chemist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), supporting national security. Corbey joined PNNL in 2015 and applies her knowledge to nuclear material processing and nuclear forensic research. She leads in the synthesis and analysis of F element species to support national security missions and manages interdisciplinary teams of experimentalists and computational scientists toward this effort.
Corbey mainly conducts work in PNNL’s hazard category II nuclear facility as a certified fissionable material handler and supervisor for independent radiological glove-box and fume-hood work with highly radioactive and fissile materials. She uses chemical, spectroscopic, and crystallographic techniques to characterize radiological material properties and is experienced in analytical tools for highly radioactive compounds, including nuclear magnetic resonance; electron paramagnetic resonance; Raman; fluorescence; ultraviolet, visible, and infrared spectroscopies; single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction; and elemental analysis.
