Evan Patrick
Evan Patrick
Biography
Evan Patrick is a member of the Molecular Catalysis group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) within the Physical and Computational Sciences Directorate. Working with Morris Bullock and Ba Tran, his research focuses on the development of next-generation copper hydride catalysts for the hydrogenation of unsaturated substrates, with a particular emphasis on mechanistic studies and kinetic modelling.
Before joining PNNL, Evan earned his PhD in organometallic chemistry from the University of Calgary in 2021 under the mentorship of Prof. Warren Piers. His doctoral work focused on the design and synthesis of anionic borate-based ligands to stabilize highly sensitive terminal metal-element multiple bonds, and investigation of their reactivity for small-molecule activation.
