Biography
Eric McGarrah is a project manager in the Physical Detection Systems and Deployment Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). In this role, he currently serves as the PNNL Stable Isotopes Program Manager supporting the Department of Energy Office of Science Isotope Program and manages other national security-focused projects.
McGarrah joined PNNL in 2011 and has managed projects across the laboratory, including national security-focused artificial intelligence/machine learning R&D projects, domestic and international nuclear nonproliferation deployment programs, and nuclear material minimization projects. He has experience managing high-risk projects both onsite and offsite and leading large programs. He also served as the Group Leader for the Disruptive Technology Group within PNNL’s National Security Directorate.
Prior to joining PNNL, McGarrah was a transportation engineer for the Washington State Department of Transportation, responsible for leading regional design and construction projects. He holds a BS and MS in civil engineering from Washington State University and the University of Washington, respectively, and an MS in Systems and Engineering Management from Texas Tech University. McGarrah is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Washington.
