Biography

Christian Valoria is a Research Engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, where he advances energyefficient technologies for the U.S. Department of Energy, with a focus on HVAC, water heating, and window systems. Christian’s work spans technology assessments, field validation, development of refrigerant sensing solutions, and market research aimed at increasing utilization of highefficiency building technologies.

Christian’s prior experience includes roles in energy services, mechanical designbuild contracting, and MEP consulting. In these positions, Christian led the design of HVAC systems for commercial buildings and contributed to the analysis and performance optimization of waterheating systems.

Christian holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Christian is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Engineering at the University of Washington, expected in 2028.
