Alison Shereda
Biography
Alison Shereda is a social scientist in the Coastal Sciences Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), where she performs research focused on the social-ecological dimensions of renewable energy in coastal, rural, and remote communities. She also conducts research on climate adaptation, science communications, community technical assistance, and community outreach and engagement.
Through her work at PNNL, Shereda has applied her interdisciplinary background to projects spanning a variety of energy technologies, particularly offshore wind and marine energy technologies. Her research experience includes developing a conceptual model to highlight the social-ecological-technological relationships associated with offshore wind on the West Coast, developing a framework to understand the readiness of coastal communities for marine energy demonstration, and evaluating the relationship between land-based wind development and recreation. Shereda also supports the Triton Initiative’s science communication, outreach, and research efforts.
