Maria Vargas Escobar is a bilingual education professional with five years of experience providing administrative support in higher education and local government. Currently, Maria is an administrator for the National Security Professional Leadership Internship and Minority-Serving Institution Partnership Program teams. Maria joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory from the TRIO Student Support Programs at Washington State University Tri-Cities, where she provided support to a mentorship program assisting new students with their transition to the university. She also served as a GEAR UP mentor and student teacher within the Pasco School District, delivering individualized teaching approaches to embrace students’ diverse learning styles.
