Hanna has more than 25 years of professional communications experience that includes managing all aspects of government communications, outreach, and publications for scientific and academic organizations. Her proven track record includes providing strategic support to leadership of outreach for PNNL’s physical and computational sciences and the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Climate Research Facility. Hanna works to strategically align communications with an organizations’ mission and vision and leads a cross-functional team to produce quality print, digital, web, and social media products for internal and external audiences with measurable impact. Her skills include strategic planning, excellent customer service, award-winning writing, working with news media, and social media. Prior to joining PNNL in 2015, Hanna spent 16 years with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, writing a national trade journal for coastal resource managers and leading social media efforts. She began her career reporting for a statewide daily newspaper.

Hanna has a BA in political science from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
