Soft carbon as promising anode for sodium ion batteries presents high capacity and great rate performance. To further enhance the performance of soft carbon, it is necessary to understand the Na-ions storage mechanism in the structure. We, for the first time, reveal its Na-ions storage mechanism by combining experimental and simulation studies.
