Complete Laboratory Evaluation and Issue a Report on the Impact of Temperature on Uranium Adsorption

Abstract

Time series experiments under controlled laboratory conditions were conducted with three separate formulations of the ORNL amidoxime-based polymeric adsorbent (38H, AF1 and AI8) to assess the impact of adsorption capacity due to temperature. Experiments were conducted by loading the adsorbent into columns and exposing the fibers to filtered ambient seawater at several different temperatures, representative of conditions typically found in the coastal ocean (8-32 °C).
