Alternative conceptual models of the subsurface at WMA-C were developed to evaluate potential impacts of small-scale heterogeneities on residual tank wastes relative to a simpler layered model. The alternative models produce peak concentrations at a 100-m down-gradient monitoring plane that are both lower than and greater than those generated using the layered model. All models produced peak concentrations that are an order-of-magnitude lower than the maximum contaminant level for Tc-99.
