Abstract
Non-traditional formats for publication of research can dramatically elevate visibility of breakthrough scientific research being performed at the lab. Some examples of high-profile research pages showcasing these types of articles include Christopher Olah's site (https://colah.github.io/) which includes his famous article on Long Short-Term Memory, "Understanding LSTMs"; Andrej Karpathy's site (http://karpathy.github.io/) which includes his famous article on character-based recurrent neural network language models, "The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Recurrent Neural Networks"; and Berkeley AI Research's page (https://bair.berkeley.edu/blog/). These scientific articles are exemplified by their rich visual content which enables the dissemination of advanced scientific topics and complex AI algorithms to the general community beyond the small set of experts in a particular discipline. In recent years, it has become the norm for high profile AI research labs to release these interactive, visualization enriched articles alongside the now-common practice of posting preprint publications on the ArXiv preprint server. Here we present a simple prototype framework to empower researchers across a breadth of domains with tools to build rich, interactive research articles.
