Biography

Dr. Scheibe is the Principal Investigator and Mechanistic Models Campaign lead for PNNL’s Scientific Focus Area (SFA) project sponsored by BER’s Subsurface Biogeochemistry Research (SBR) program. This project combines field observations, experiments, and multiscale numerical models to advance understanding of the biogeochemical impacts of hydrologic exchange flows (groundwater-surface water interactions) in river and watershed systems.

At EMSL, Dr. Scheibe is the Lead Scientist for multiscale modeling and high-performance computing. He develops the scientific vision for multiscale and computational science within EMSL, provides a national perspective on the future scientific and technological needs, and sets a strategy to integrate EMSL capabilities to address key scientific issues in environmental molecular science relevant to BER missions.
