Biography

Dr. Zhou is a post-doctoral research assistant in Dr. Ljiljana Paša-Tolic’s group. His research focuses on using high resolution mass spectrometry techniques for protein structural analysis.Dr. Zhou is involved in projects utilizing top-down mass spectrometry for protein identification and characterization. One major research interest with top-down mass spectrometry at EMSL is to characterize histone post-translational modification that controls gene expression on the intact protein level (e.g. combinatorial histone codes) in biological samples. He is also working on native mass spectrometry techniques where intact noncovalent protein complexes are directly analyzed in the gas phase for structural characterization.
