CME's Brandi Cossairt, who is a PI in the Center for Molecular Electrocatalysis (CME) and a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Washington, was elected to the Washington State Academy of Sciences (WSAS). She is recognized for her "leadership in the innovative synthesis and chemical modification of nanoscale materials for application in light emission and catalysis." New members will be inducted at the 14th Annual Members' Meeting of the Washington State Academy of Sciences on September 16, 2021. The WSAS is a non-profit organization that "provides expert scientific and engineering assessments to inform public policy making and works to increase the impact of research in Washington State."

In addition to her research and teaching, Brandi is an Associate Editor at the ACS journal Inorganic Chemistry and is the co-founder of the Chemistry Women Mentorship Network.

Morris Bullock, Director of the CME, noted that "we are happy to see Brandi's work recognized. Her research is central to the goals of the CME, bringing a molecular perspective to design of new types of materials for conversion between electrical and chemical energy."
