Justin Teeguarden.
Dr. Justin Teeguarden, a toxicologist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, was appointed to a National Academies panel "Incorporating 21st Century Science into Risk-Based Evaluations." The panel is under the auspices of the National Research Council (NRC) and will provide recommendations on integrating new scientific approaches into risk-based evaluations. Specifically, the committee will first consider the scientific advances that have occurred following the publication of the NRC reports Toxicity Testing in the 21st Century: A Vision and a Strategy and Exposure Science in the 21st Century: A Vision and a Strategy.
Teeguarden, who has a background in pharmacokinetics, leads research related to chemical risk assessment and health effects, most notably that related to the use of Bisphenol A (BPA) in plastics.
