Hoyem Named PNNL Administrator of the Year
Tara Hoyem was named PNNL Administrator of the Year for 2006. The announcement was made by Director Len Peters at the PNNL Office Professionals Conference on May 31. She was chosen from among 26 nominees.
The honor is given as part of a program launched in Fall 2005, the Laboratory Director's Award of Administrative Excellence. The program is designed to honor three administrative assistants annually. Each receives the Laboratory Director's Award of Administrative excellence, along with a monetary award. The Administrator of the Year is selected from the three honorees.
Hoyem provides key administrative and organizational support to the U.S. Department of Energy's Genomics: GTL Shewanella Federation project and the EMSL Biogeochemistry Grand Challenge. Hoyem was nominated by her supervisor, PNNL chief scientist Jim Fredrickson, who described her as the "consummate professional" and noted she is "one of PNNL's best ambassadors and leaves clients and collaborators alike with an extremely positive impression of our organization."
